About

Calorie Dollars is a way of thinking about counting calories that my husband, Shawn, came up with. By using this method, we are able to make calorie counting less abstract and more real. For instance, in Shawn’s case, he has $2,000 (as in 2,000 calories) to spend each day. This helps him to think about where he’s “spending” his calories and if the price is really worth the expenditure. Not only has this worked for us, but it is working for some of our friends too.

So, who are we?

We’re a married couple from Connecticut with kids and dogs. I, Sarah, am a writer and editor who just had a baby in November 2007 and wants to look and feel like the thin person of myself I know. Shawn is in management and wants to live long so that he can walk our daughter down the aisle and play with our son’s children. We’re like anyone else.

2008 is our year.
